Deadwood - Concept and Direction
Deadwood was commissioned by Waterman's Arts Centre and performed by over a hundred performers in the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew. The perambulatory show, about the destruction of the rainforest, played for four evenings to audiences of 2000. The music, composed by Jeremy Peyton Jones was played by his ensemble, Regular Music, the text was by David Gale, lighting by Simon Corder and costumes by Katy McPhee. Hilary won a Time Out Theatre Award for "her audacious and imaginative" production.
Deadwood was recreated for the Singapore Arts Festival under the title of The Fragile Forest.
